Alexander Gordon Jump was an American actor. He was best known for his role as the lonely Maytag repairman and for his role as Arthur Carlson on WKRP in Cincinnati. (In real life, he was a radio and TV personality.) Gordon worked with future Seinfeld director Andy Ackerman during his time on WKRP. Gordon appeared in two episodes of Season Nine: "The Butter Shave" and "The Voice". He played Mr. Thomassoulo, George Costanza's boss at Play Now. Gordon passed away at age 71 as a result of pulmonary fibrosis and respiratory failure.
