Henry Ross is a wealthy socialite, the father of Susan Ross and the husband of Mrs. Ross. He also has a son, Ricky, and a sister, Sara. He was portrayed by Warren Frost.

Story[]

Henry is extremely judgmental and has quite a mean streak. He particularly dislikes George Costanza, especially after he steals the marble rye he and his parents brought to dinner. That said, he does appear to be capable of kindness even to those he does not like, once giving George a box of Cuban cigars.

One of Henry's most valued possessions is a cabin in the upstate area, built by his father in 1947. After learning from George and Susan that Cosmo Kramer burnt it down by accidentally dropping a lit cigar on old newspaper, he's left dumbstruck, worriedly asking if anything was found in the ruins before wandering out of sight, leaving his full reaction unseen.

After a sealed box was recovered from the cabin, Susan opened it to discover several letters written to Henry by John Cheever, revealing that Henry had a homosexual liaison with the novelist at one point (referencing the real-life posthumous reveal of Cheever's bisexuality). Susan, his wife, Ricky, and Sara were all surprised, though Sara in particular exclaimed "I knew it!"

Following Susan's death from being poisoned by toxic glue, Henry and Mrs. Ross formed the Susan Ross Foundation to honor their late daughter and made George a member of the Board of Directors, much to George's dismay.

In “The Wizard”, Susan's parents admit that they blamed George for Susan's death when they accompanied him to the Hamptons.

In "The Finale, Part 2," he and Mrs. Ross attend the trial of Jerry, Elaine, George, and Kramer in Latham County. After Dr. Wexler mentions Susan's death, Henry accuses George of being a murderer while Mrs. Ross claims that George knew the envelopes she licked were toxic. While the jury is deciding the verdict, Henry is seen purchasing a gun, possibly to kill George, possibly to ward off journalists. He and Mrs. Ross are among those thrilled that George, Jerry, Elaine, and Kramer are found guilty.
