Mr. Matt Wilhelm was George Costanza's supervisor while working at the Yankees. Most of the time he gave George work to do, and many times reported directly to George Steinbrenner. Mr. Wilhelm was potrayed by Richard Herd.

Story

In "The Bottle Deposit", Wilhelm gave George a big project to do, but George didn't hear what the project was. Eventually, he did the project himself while he wasn't taking his medication, and George got the credit. George was taken off to an institution, because of how the project was done and it disturbed Steinbrenner. He claims that George is his protegee after George's lousy speech on management. Mr. Wilhelm would also be temporarily abducted by a carpet sweeper cult, being renamed Tania. It is unknown how he escaped. Eventually, in "The Millennium", George gets offered a job to the Mets. Throughout the episode he tries to get fired, but it never works out, until he drives around the parking lot, ranting, and dragging the World Series trophy behind his car. When George is about to get fired, Mr. Wilhelm comes and takes the blame so he could become the new Head Scouting Director of the Mets, the position that George was offered earlier in the episode. In "The Finale", Wilhelm appears for the final time, along with numerous other characters. He can be seen sitting in the back of the courtroom, and while the jury is out, he can be seen eating with Steinbrenner, and appears to be trying to calm him down, as he is arguing with the waitress.
