Teddy Padilac is a minor character that appears in "The Checks", portrayed by John Bowman. Padilac worked with Jerry as an umbrella salesman on 48th Street and Sixth Avenue. Both he and Jerry claim to be the inventor of an umbrella-selling trick known as "the twirl". When Jerry meets him in the street, trying to buy an umbrella, he accuses Jerry of having bailed on him 15 years ago. He is also disappointed that Jerry wasn't there for him during the "poncho craze" of '84.

Jerry: "Can I just buy an umbrella?"

Teddy: "Sure. 200 dollars."

Jerry: "What?"

Teddy: "Special price for a real foul-weather friend!"
